Aleticia K. Silverwood Tijerina Is the Assistant Director. She is Odawa/French (mother) and Mexican (father) descent from the Ogontz village of mission Indians in Northern Ohio. Aleticia’s research interest include Native nationalism, Native nation-building and Native Studies curriculum development. Before coming to Evergreen, she was an instructor in the department of politics and international affairs and a minority recruiter and program developer. Aleticia received her Ph.D. from Northern Arizona University. Aleticia is also a poet and performance artist.
